Way to go Post 12196

What a great month of May. We pulled off an amazing display of community programs, ending with our very emotional Memorial Day Ceremony. On May 3, we participated in the Belville Founders' Day. On May 17, we volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. On May 24, we sponsored, in conjunction with Veterans Creative Arts Program, Dreams Center for Art Education and Humana, a Women Veterans Luncheon. On May 24, we held two Buddy Poppy Drives. One at Whistle Car Wash and one at Tractor Supply. On May 26, we hosted a Memorial Day Service to remember our fallen comrades.

Magnolia Greens July 4th Parade

July 4th Parade & Cookout Timeline 9:00 Set up pop-up tents and water stations (coolers with water) – corner of Grandiflora and Cornerstone, along Grandiflora & by OCH 9:30- 9:45 Meet with/ Leland Police on road closures 10:00 – 10:15 Roads are closed – Safeties are in place Parade participants are lined up for the march on Grandiflora, West Cove Loop, and Cornerstone 10:25 Parade check – ready to go 10:30 Parade begins – Kick off with firetruck “honk” 11:15 Parade concludes as participants arrive at the Owners Clubhouse 11:20 American Legion leads us in Pledge of Allegiance & Gary leads us in singing National Anthem 11:30 Doors open for food – Cook-out begins 11:45 Short speech on the importance of Independence Day – Bea Frost, Commander of the American Legion Throughout Raffles 1:00 Event ends

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.
